On the Ass Burn bottle there’s a comment stating “I Love HJ (‘69-‘03)”. That’s a tribute to our dear friend Handsome Joel Svatek, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. HJ was an awesome guy, one of the nicest guys you’d ever meet, and a true host to musicians that would travel through Texas. He loved Ass Burn, going through the stuff like wildfire, and I’d always bring him some more when one my bands would be playing Austin. I think he’d dig being saluted on the bottle.
